3 Quit Approaches with CHANTIX

Talk to your healthcare provider about which approach might be right for you.

Fixed Quit Approach

This quit approach may be right for you if you want to put down your cigarettes after 1 week.

  • Start taking CHANTIX and your target quit date is 1 week later
  • You can keep smoking for the first week, while you prepare to quit
  • You take CHANTIX for 12 weeks

Flexible Quit Approach

This quit approach may be right for you if you want to quit smoking but want flexibility to choose to put down your cigarettes within a month of starting CHANTIX.

  • Start taking CHANTIX and then pick a quit date between 8 and 35 days from the date you start CHANTIX
  • You can keep smoking while you prepare to quit
  • You take CHANTIX for 12 weeks

Gradual Quit Approach

This quit approach may be right for you if you’re sure you are not willing or able to stop smoking all at once.

  • Start taking CHANTIX and cut your smoking in half during the first 4 weeks of treatment, cut it in half again during the next 4 weeks, then keep reducing during weeks 9 to 12, with the goal of quitting by the end of Week 12, or sooner
  • You then take CHANTIX for 12 more weeks, for a total of 24 weeks
